Empowering Lives
Empowering Lives is an initiative of Teen Challenge Qld. We believe that, by running the Arrowsmith Program in the Teen Challenge rehab centres, we are helping to address learning difficulties, playing a big part in creating a more positive trajectory for young people's lives.
Empowering lives was involved in a research study, working with Teen Challenge Queensland and Teen Challenge Tasmania to see the impact that participating in Arrowsmith had on men and women recovering from addiction. The results were very encouraging and can be seen below.

How Arrowsmith Works
The brain’s ability to change and our understanding of the principles of neuroplasticity is what allows Arrowsmith to change brains and transform lives.
Arrowsmith’s Cognitive Exercises, tapping into the brain's neuroplastic nature, strengthen neural pathways changing our students’ ability to learn to read, write, do math, comprehend, reason, think critically, be empathetic and engage in meaningful ways.
By addressing the source of the difficulty, our students improve their ability to perform complex tasks. Students are able to redefine their future, living with greater independence, confidence, and sense of accomplishment. Healthy self-confidence based on real-world competence develops.
Arrowsmith has the neuroplasticity of the brain and our students’ lifelong successes at the forefront of our program.

“After doing the program I found that I was starting to open up a lot more and when my therapist would try to tell me different techniques to help me with different issues, I was able to follow it a lot better and actually put it into practice, which was something I would never usually do before. “ Dave, Teen Challenge QLD Participant |
