Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about getting started with the program.
What equipment do I need to participate in online classes?
You will need a desktop computer or laptop with a camera and microphone, along with a stable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
No advanced technical setup is required — we will guide you through everything before you begin.
What if I decide not to continue with the program?
We understand that starting something new is a big decision.
There is no long-term lock-in. You can enrol on a month-to-month basis and decide whether to continue.
If you choose not to proceed, simply let us know before the 25th of the month.
How long before we see results?
Every individual is different, but many families begin to notice changes in attention, confidence and learning within the first few months.
The program focuses on strengthening underlying cognitive functions, so improvements build over time and can lead to lasting change.
Can I use NDIS funding for the Arrowsmith Program?
Some families use NDIS funding to support participation in the Arrowsmith Program.
If you are planning to use NDIS funding, you will need to check that it is approved under your plan and confirm this with your plan manager before commencing.
Empowering Lives can provide program information to help you discuss suitability with your plan manager.
Is the program suitable for my child?
The Arrowsmith Program is generally suited to students of average or above-average intelligence who experience a combination of learning difficulties and are able to participate in a structured cognitive training program.
It may not be suitable for individuals with severe intellectual, cognitive, emotional or behavioural challenges that would significantly affect participation.
Suitability is considered through the questionnaire, consultation and assessment process.
